Self Branding

I remember my days in MBA, when I use to have this professor who is a namesake of my father. He would always say, you need to brand yourself in class. Who do you want to be from the eyes of your discriminating classmates? At the end of the day, you will be graded by professors not just for your performance in class, but also on how they see you.

Are we really conscious in creating a brand of who we are or who we want to be? Do we actually set out the things that we do everyday with conscious intention to project an image, whatever that is?
